Tyra ‘Mama Virgo’ Gay

My name is Tyra Gay, also known as Mama Virgo. I am a mother of four beautiful brown children, a Traditional Birth Worker, Holistic Wellness and Spiritual Integration Guide with a deep passion for maternal health, family wellness, legacy, and wholistic living.

My work is deeply rooted in my own life experiences. From challenges I faced in childhood to my journey of becoming a mother, I witnessed firsthand how trauma, poverty, environment, and a lack of resources can impact families for generations. Those experiences awakened something in me, the understanding that I had the power and responsibility to help create something different for my children, my community, and the families I serve.

Today, I support individuals and families throughout the reproductive journey, from family planning and preconception through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and afterbirth care. My approach blends traditional, ancestral, spiritual, and holistic practices while honoring modern advancements and evidence-based care.

Beyond birth work, I create herbal healing products, host educational classes, curate cultural experiences, bring our people together through community, and help families protect their legacies through life insurance.

At the heart of everything I do are four pillars: education, empowerment, wellness, and strategy. I believe creating healthier families is about more than addressing one moment or one need, it is about building a life, a legacy, and a foundation that can positively impact generations to come.
